Welcoming Refugees Home with a Collaboratively Designed Mural at Micah House in Hamilton, Ontario

This was such a special wall transformation ❤️❤️

I had the honour of designing this mural for @micahhousehamilton - a Hamilton-based organization housing newly arrived refugee claimants, providing safe shelter and assisting with settlement into our communities.

The design holds a lot of symbolism - the journey of leaving one home and entering a new one - and is meant to make new residents to feel welcomed, safe and joyful.

Past and current residents were asked to give input into the design and I’m so proud of how we all came together to transform this space.

Thank you to Stephanie and the team at @micahhousehamilton for allowing me to create this mural for your incredible space. I hope the current and future residents enjoy it!
